Designing for mom-bloggers, I get the request pretty often for a "printable list" plugin that can be used for coupons. The only thing I knew of up till now cost $199! That's ridiculous! Thanks to Jenetta from Frugal Freebies & Deals (make sure you visit her and say thanks if this plugin is something you've been looking for!) She wrote me to share this plugin she found. Best of all it's FREE!!!  :Happy-Grin:

Download Mile51's "Select & Print" Plugin for WP!

I don't need it for my blog, but I've downloaded & installed it to see how easy it is to use. It's a simple one-click install. It has options for setting header text & logo, plus sidebar and footer ads/text on the print page.

This is just to test it out...

Some sort of great deal placed here that you definitely want to click and print!
Blah, blah, blah..............etc, etc.
Another amazing deal here!!!

Seems pretty simple! Just write your regular post....highlight the text you want to make clickable/printable...and click the "Select & Print" button that appears in the editor after installation. ShopperPress Plugin for WordPress Bloggers...

Another reason I've been M.I.A., is that the nice gentleman over at ShopperPress.com was sweet enough to give me a plugin to review and test-drive!
I love the idea of blogs + shops in one....and want to be able to offer this as a service to all the mom-blogging, WAHMs out there that are looking to have their own web shop online. So far, it's been great! Installs easy, although I did have to upload myself to the plugins folder; for some reason the upload button wouldn't work for it. It comes with a pretty big selection of pre-installed shop themes, so it's easy to get started, with little customization. It's set up with customization in mind, and makes it simple (through the admin panel) to change the front page (header/logo, layout, widgets, buttons, etc).

Listing items is as simple as writing a post. Has section for 'old' price, and 'sale' price. Can add as many images as one wants. Featuring products is a simple click. Has extra fields for sizing, color choice, etc. And also has a nifty built in feature for anyone that wants to set up an AFFILIATE shop! has fields for amazon ASIN, or amazon "buy now" buttons, buy links, and redirects (that allow a customer to click on your button to give you credit, but check out at the originating store).

All in all pretty simple, and a GREAT solution which is on sale now for $79 (regular $199). I think most people could install this on their own and start a shop (out of the box) within the day....er, next day (after listing products). I'm offering installation of plugin, and customization for $160. That's the best I can do and still make some money after subtracting the $79. But, of course...it's that great hand-holding service I offer...that takes the scariness out of it starting something new. Plus....all the custom graphics!!!!!!!!! Is not a lot if you're wanting your own shop.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO INSTALL AN E-SHOP ON YOUR BLOG...I HIGHLY SUGGEST DOING A SUB-DOMAIN (/shop), INSTALLING A 2ND WORDPRESS BLOG, AND USING THE THEME ON IT'S OWN. UNLESS YOU'RE STARTING A BLOG FROM SCRATCH. THIS IS THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION FOR EXTENDING ANY WEBSITE. I PERSONALLY ALWAYS KEEP THE MAIN DOMAIN ALONE, AND ADD MY BLOGS UNDER /blog, AND SHOP UNDER /shop, /forum, /chat, ETC. THAT WAY YOU CAN ADD NEW AREAS WITHOUT UPSETTING THE MAIN AREA. BUT........THAT'S ANOTHER POST.

YOU CAN CHECK OUT HOW I'M USING THE SHOPPERPRESS PLUGIN HERE. IT'S STILL UNDER A LITTLE CONSTRUCTION, BUT IT'S A LIVE SHOP, SO IF WANT TO HIRE ME TO DO ANY WORK. YOU CAN PURCHASE STUFF DIRECTLY THROUGH THE SHOP LINK IN THE NAVBAR. I'VE ADDED A FEW MORE SERVICES, LIKE PHOTO EDITING & TOUCH UP, SCRAPBOOKING FOR HIRE, SHOPPERPRESS, AND A NEW ONE CALLED eSTORE, WHICH IS ANOTHER WORDPRESS THEME.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK, OR WHAT SERVICE YOU THINK ARE MISSING. :)

WordPress Plugin: Contact Form 7

contact form 7Just plugging another plugin for WordPress users.

If you host giveaways, you might want to check out CONTACT FORM 7. Found it last night when I was looking for something to make entering easier. Most people are using Google Docs for this, which works great. This is just another alternative for form submitting...rather then the typical 'post a comment' for each entry thing. It can also be used for 'contact' email submissions.

Plugin in easy install through admin. You can create unlimited forms. Isn't super easy...not drag & drop, or anything....but I think most people can use it with a little spare, quiet time to look at it. Ability to add radio buttons, check boxes, text fields, captcha, etc. Then it gives you a snippet of code to paste in your post or page. Can go back and tweak, edit it easily till you get it just right. Also need to make sure you apply the form to the email part that's shown in admin.....then each time someone enters, you're sent an email with the subject heading for the giveaway, and all the steps each person had completed. It's not flawless, but it's good.

I'm using it for the Omega-3 Greens Giveaway. I made a new folder in my inbox called "OMEGA-3 GIVEAWAY", and all entries are moved there, so I can keep track of everything. Only suggestion I'd make...is to save the giveaway post/page in draft...then preview...and test the form by filling it out and checking it in your inbox to make sure it's working right. I'm pretty savvy, and had to play around with it about 4 or 5 times before it was how I wanted it.

Let me know if you try it out, and what you think.

Switched to MailChimp...

mailchimp logoMAILCHIMP IS (AGAIN) FREE FOR ANYONE THAT HAS LESS THEN 1000 SUBSCRIBERS. WITH A LIMIT OF 6000 MAIL OUTS PER MONTH.

I went back and forth with the idea of doing a full html newsletter, rather then the plain feedburner mail I was sending out. I tried a couple free plugins for wordpress, but couldn't get them to work right, and didn't want to spend a lot of time on it. I finally bit the bullet on MailChimp. Guess I just didn't want to sign up for yet another 3-party application, but I'm glad I did.

What I was looking for was something more customizable then feedburner, that still mailed out my post feed, bcuz I don't have the time to put together an actual, full-fledged newsletter on a regular basis. I wanted something automated. MailChimp has an "RSS to email" campaign that walks you right through the entire process. Very simple! They also have a lot of great tutorial videos! It's easy to fully customize a newsletter...either from scratch, or from a host of nice templates & headers. It's also possible to choose a layout for the html email....with sidebars, so you can include affiliate links, buttons, about me, or just about anything you want.  They also have plugins to integrate it with wordpress.

I imported my email list of subscribers from feedburner, by downloading the .cvs file & importing it in MailChimp...took less then a minute.

First email goes out tomorrow morning. I'm interested to know what people think, and if anyone else is thinking about trying it.

Where are my Skype Snapshots?

skype

Here's how to find your Skype images on your computer.

First Make sure you can see hidden files and folders. To check this you will have to go to Control Panel > Folder Options > Click on the View Tab > Under the Hidden files and folders section make sure that > Show hidden files, folders, and drives is selected.

Now the very intuitive ;) location of your images is in this previously hidden folder:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Skype\Pictures
Of coures replace YOURUSERNAME with your user name :)

Pretty easy if you know the right steps to take. Now I'm sure you don't want to have to remeber that ridiculous location every time you want to look though those pictures. My suggestion would be to create a shortcut to it. You can easily do this by first browsing to the desired location IE: Pictures folder or wherever you'd like and then right-click on empty space > New > Shortcut For location use: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Skype\Pictures > Next > Name it > Finish
