I tossed on Tuesday, but nothing worth following up with. James got sick (his first time)....and I flipped out (not first time). He was fine then he wasn't. Next thing I knew he had a temp of 101, and I didn't have anything to give him. Didn't help that it was 95 degrees outside. Not that I had him outside, but....had to carry him to the drugstore...luckily at the corner! I ran in there like a mad woman, on the verge of tears. I admit...I don't do well with babies or animals that are ill! They can't tell you what's wrong, where it hurts...and they're little systems are so delicate. I freak. I interrupted everyone in the store, demanding help. They didn't have much due to recalls on both Infant Motrin and Tylenol. They gave me something generic instead.
The pharmacist said it's most likely teething. James will be 4 months on the 24th, but he's 20lbs...and advanced all-round for his age. More like 6 months. Anyway, he was up most the night with a temp around 100- 102. I was a calm, and somewhat collect basket-case!!! And...Beth took the car to go to work. Her car, but it sorta left me stranded encase of an emergency. I didn't like that. I would have most definitely woken my next door neighbor to get a ride to the hospital is necessary. We're not good friends, but............she loves James. She would have done it. Thankfully it didn't get that bad, and Beth was home by 3am. All in all............the fever seems to have broke (knock on wood), and James is finally sleeping. I'm hoping it's just the teething thing, but I'll have to see if it's not better....about taking him to the hospital. I can't take him to his doctor, bcuz I don't want to get his vaccinations.........they've refused to see him anymore! That's another post for another time.
Hope the best for little James' speedy recovery, and.......if you have any advice for a new mom with an feverish baby.........PLEASE COMMENT!!!!! PLEASE!
