MOM-BLOGGER

E-COMMERCE SOLUTIONS

FREE Online Store Plugin for WordPress users. Not sure how I feel about this plugin to be honest. It's a good start I suppose...for those that want a blog & shop on one site. They have a lot of great ADD ON features...really great, but.......that's where they get you. They charge for all of them, and it adds up quick! Going that route, for a really stellar set up and you might as well drop that $1000. on hiring a (amateur) developer. It works out of the box, but IMHO...it ain't pretty. One has to go "premium" to get the fullness & creativity that makes a shop attractive, easy to use, and nice.

On sale for $79 (was $199). Haven't tried this, but it looks really good. It's appears to be an inclusive package....everything you need to make a great looking shop, right out of the box. Have no idea how easy it is to use, but nowadays....if it's not easy, it's not usually successful. So, I assume it's simple. Made exclusively for WordPress.

FREE e-shop solution for JOOMLA. Virtuemart is near & dear to me. It's my (FREE) choice if you're looking for a fully packed solution for e-commerce. Maybe too packed for some people, but the great thing about Virtuemart...is that many of the unnecessary accessories can be turned off, and just work with the barebones. I'm most familiar with this software, so I can say the most about it. Has a nice back-end/admin. And, the front can handle a good bit of customization.....all depends (again) on how much time one has to play around with it. However, being open-source...there are a good deal of pre-made themes and templates to choose from, and then tweak (less). Of course....it only works with Joomla. You can download the Joomla-Virtuemart bundle (that installs it all in one go)....saving some hassle.
